Food & Drink Whether you’re here for a beer or a bite to eat, you’ll always leave The Pointer with a smile on your face. We’ve won numerous awards for our fabulously fresh ales, and gained a great following through our deliciously different approach to pub food. It’s our unique bartering system that helps us bring the Isle of Wight’s best fresh produce to our kitchen. Local growers can exchange their freshly picked produce for food and drink – giving them a chance to dine for free, and giving you the chance to enjoy local food at its freshest. These homegrown ingredients provide the inspiration for our chef’s specials, which change on a daily basis. There’s also a menu of comforting classics, plenty of light bites for lunches and snacks, and a ‘little pups’ menu for the children too. How does fresh grilled asparagus with breaded poached egg and homemade Hollandaise sauce grab you? Or how about homemade Newchurch Pie with seasonal vegetables? To try these delicious dishes, and to see what else we have to offer, book yourself a table today. Behind the bar, we’re just as passionate about first-class fare. We hold the coveted Master Cellarman award, won the Fuller’s Master Cellarman Pride and Passion award in 2013, and also won the regional Morning Advertiser Best Cellar 2013 award - so you can be sure our beers are kept in exceptional condition.
